Technical Training
Sorin Group's Cardiopulmonary Business Unit provides technical service training to help students develop the skills they need to service and maintain the systems we manufacture and distribute. This includes general equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as basic system operations.

Sorin Group USA, Inc. technical service seminars emphasize equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as well as basic system operations. Through intensive class participation, students develop the skills they need to service and maintain Sorin Group manufactured and distributed systems.
Who should attend?
Any individual who is responsible for servicing and maintaining Sorin Group manufactured and distributed systems is encouraged to participate. Please refer to the following prerequisites for specific skills and requirements.
Prerequisites
It is highly recommended that individuals who attend our Technical Service Seminars have, at a minimum, the following training, education and/or experience:
- Two year college certificate or degree in electronics, biomedical engineering or equivalent discipline and a minimum of 3 years as a Biomedical Technician with consistent performance
- Should have strong analytical and problem solving skills relating to solving equipment problems
- Should have an understanding of general electronic circuit design, ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams, etc.
- Participants should have an understanding of the specialized therapy in which the equipment is used
- Familiarization with test equipment and various tools is necessary
How will you benefit?
You can expect to increase your understanding, skills, and proficiency in servicing and supporting the equipment. You will also benefit from the expertise of knowledgeable seminar leaders. The small class size gives you hands-on experience with the equipment and it encourages peer interaction—interaction that will help you gain new ideas and techniques for others who share similar responsibilities. Following successful completion of each seminar, each student will be formally certified to perform corrective and preventive maintenance services on the equipment for which they have been trained.

Cancellation Policy
Any cancellation made within four weeks of the start of a class will be charged a 25% cancellation fee. Your facility is allowed to send a substitute in place of the original attendee at no charge.
Travel
It is recommended that you arrive in town the day before class starts. Class will end at 4:30 p.m. each day, except possibly on the final day. Please check the schedule to see approximately what time your class will end on the last day. Do not schedule a flight out of Denver any earlier than three hours after your class is scheduled to end. If your flight is too early, you may miss important information that can prevent you from completing the course.

IMPORTANT AIRPORT INFORMATION
The Denver International Airport (DIA) is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the recommended hotels depending on traffic conditions. Be sure to take this into consideration when scheduling your return flights.

If you are planning to use the RTD SkyRide bus to return to the airport, please allow sufficient time (based on the scheduled bus route) to make your flight.
Driving Directions to Sorin Group USA
If you live in the Denver Metro area and are planning to drive to Sorin Group USA, Inc., the address is 14401 W. 65th Way and the telephone number is 303-458-5508. Traveling east or west on I-70, take the Ward Rd. exit and continue north on Ward Rd. to 64th Avenue. Turn left on 64th Avenue and drive west for approximately 2.5 miles to Gardenia Street. Turn right on Gardenia and proceed to the parking lot in front of the building.
Miscellaneous
You should leave some empty space in your luggage when you travel to class. You will receive manuals and other miscellaneous material that you will need to pack to take home. The amount of material varies by course. The tuition includes seminar instruction, seminar materials (Service, Operators, & Training Manuals) and lunch/snacks each day. Airfare to Denver, airport transfers, hotel accommodations, local transportation and all other meals are the responsibility of the participant. Attire for the seminar is business casual.
Classes are held in Sorin Group USA's Arvada facility from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each scheduled day unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Each seminar consists of a combination of lecture and lab to provide participants with specific theory of operation as well as the lab experience needed to troubleshoot and repair Sorin Group equipment, to perform calibration procedures and to conduct preventive maintenance.
Sorin Group USA, Inc. reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment.
